Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Rabicano, Cigar Review

Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Rabicano, Cigar Review

Time for another cigar review by us at Sisuman. This time we smoked the Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Rabicano. This one sits in a slightly different category for us. The presentation, branding and overall look of the cigar are genuinely beautiful, from the band design to the shape itself, but the smoking experience leaned more subtle and restrained than we initially expected.

Daughters of the Wind is part of Casdagli’s Costa Rica made portfolio and has recently won the Cigar Trophy for Best Boutique Brand, Costa Rica 2025, something we also remember clearly from InterTabac 2025 in Germany. It’s easy to understand why the brand gets attention, the cigars look fantastic and the concept feels well thought out.

Cigar overview

Name: Casdagli Daughters of the Wind Rabicano
Vitola: Salomone
Origin: Costa Rica
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano
Binder: Costa Rica
Filler: Peru and Dominican Republic
Strength: Medium to full
Price: Around 19€ in Europe, roughly 25 usd in the US

Construction and draw

Construction was decent overall. Draw was good and smoke output was solid, but the burn was slightly uneven at times. Nothing that ruined the experience or required major corrections, but also not razor sharp from start to finish. It felt like a well rolled boutique cigar, just not a flawless one on our sample.

Flavor

Flavor wise, this cigar leaned toward a darker and more elegant profile and stayed clearly in the medium bodied range. Earth, leather and wood were present early on, joined by a noticeable but soft sweetness that helped round things out. As the cigar progressed, mild spice came forward along with hints of cocoa and a slightly creamy undertone.

While not very expressive or bold, it stayed balanced and composed throughout. The sweetness became slightly more apparent when smoked slowly and helped keep the profile interesting.

Pairing

This one worked surprisingly well with a cherry cola. The sweetness and cherry note lifted the cigar and made the flavors come together better. I might be biased here, since I am such a sucker for a good old cherry cola, but in this case it really helped elevate the overall experience in my humble opinion.

Who will enjoy this

This cigar is likely best suited for smokers who enjoy boutique cigars with elegant presentation and a more restrained, refined flavor profile. If you appreciate darker, slightly sweet and leathery cigars without aggressive strength, this could be a pleasant smoke for  you, especially in the right setting.
