Kopp Dios Del Sol Robusto Cigar Review
Alex and Axel here from Sisuman, back with another honest cigar review from two everyday enjoyers. This time we went for something very budget friendly that surprised us both in a very good way, the Kopp Dios Del Sol. Neither of us knew exactly what to expect before lighting up, since it is the first in-house cigar by Kopp Tobaccos. However, we ended up agreeing that this is one of those cigars that punches way above its price.
“Dios del Sol” translates to the "Sun god", which fits the vibe of this cigar quite well. Warm, creamy and balanced, not too strong but not too light either, just a pleasant experience all around.
Cigar overview
Name: Kopp Dios Del Sol Robusto
Origin: Honduras
Wrapper: Connecticut seed, Honduras
Binder: Honduran Broadleaf
Filler: Honduras and Nicaragua
Strength: Mild to medium
Price: Around 7 euro in Europe
Construction and draw
Both of our samples were very well made. The wrapper is smooth with clean seams and a nice light brown tone that suits a Connecticut blend. Draw was consistently good on both cigars and the burn line behaved better than expected for this price range.
Alex had zero issues from start to finish. Axel smoked his outdoors in windy weather which forced a few relights after knocking the ash off, but the construction itself held strong, so this one clearly performs best in calmer conditions (What doesn't). Ash was firm and dropped cleanly without flaking.

(Axel still enjoying the vacation heat while I try to toughen out the Finnish cold we are blessed with once again this year)
Back to the review: For a cigar under seven euro, the construction quality is genuinely impressive.
Flavor
The flavor profile is simple in the best possible way, creamy smoke with gentle sweetness running through the whole cigar. There are notes of nuts, toasted wood and a mild spice that never becomes too much.
Alex described it as creamy and sweet with hints of nuts and spice, something that works at pretty much any time of day. Axel noticed cedar, roasted nuts, cocoa and a little leather toward the end. The overall strength stays mild to medium throughout and there was no harshness at any point, even in the final third.
This is one of those cigars that does not try to be overly complex. Instead, it delivers a clean and very enjoyable profile that feels consistent from start to finish.
Pairing
Alex paired his with a very light whisky from the Nikka range, which worked nicely without overwhelming the cigar. Axel recommends pairing it with strong coffee or a light rum.
Honestly, this cigar is so versatile that you can enjoy it with almost anything, from afternoon coffee to an easy drink in the evening.
Who will enjoy this
Anyone who loves creamy and mild flavorful cigars at a great price will enjoy this. It suits beginners perfectly but has enough character for experienced smokers too. Definitely worth picking it up if you are looking for a new daily go-to that is mild and creamy.
