3 Best Dominican Cigars We’ve Smoked in 2026

Looking for the best Dominican cigar in 2026 can quickly turn into an endless list of twenty or thirty recommendations.

We wanted to keep this much simpler.

Every cigar below is one we have actually smoked and reviewed ourselves rather recently, and instead of choosing purely by score, we picked three Dominican cigars that offer something different: one premium choice, one boutique alternative and one richer, medium-bodied option.

The Best Dominican Cigars We’ve Reviewed

Cigar Rating Best For
Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro 93/100 Best overall
Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto 91/100 Best boutique alternative
L’Pure Corojo 90/100 Best medium-bodied pick

1. Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro – Best Overall

If we had to choose just one, the Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro would currently be our pick for the best Dominican cigar we have reviewed.

Made in the Dominican Republic, it combines an Ecuadorian wrapper, Mexican binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos.

Our samples were surprisingly smooth and mild-to-medium in strength, with flavors of cream, cedar, nuts, cappuccino, oak, cocoa and toasted wood.

What really stood out was the refinement. The cigar remained balanced throughout the smoke, construction was excellent and it never needed to rely on strength to stay interesting.

The obvious downside is price. At roughly €32.50 in Europe or $26 in the US when we reviewed it, this is not an everyday cigar for most smokers.

Best for: Special occasions and anyone looking for a smooth, premium Dominican cigar.

Our rating: 93/100

2. Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto – Best Boutique Pick

The Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto is probably the most interesting cigar on this list if you want something outside the most familiar premium brands.

It is produced in the Dominican Republic using an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper, Dominican binder and Dominican and Mexican filler.

The profile starts smooth and creamy, with earth, light sweetness and cedar, before developing more coffee, mild spice, toasted wood and subtle cocoa.

Construction was also excellent on both cigars we reviewed.

At around €16 in Europe and roughly $12–16 in the US, the Sampetrina came remarkably close to the much more expensive Davidoff despite carrying a far less recognizable name.

Best for: Smokers looking for a lesser-known premium Dominican cigar.

Our rating: 91/100

3. L’Pure Corojo – Best Medium-Bodied Pick

If the first two cigars sound a little too mild, the L’Pure Corojo offers something quite different.

Made in the Dominican Republic by a smaller boutique producer, it uses a Corojo wrapper together with Dominican binder and filler. It sits firmly around medium strength and brings a darker profile than the other cigars on this list.

Leather and earth form the foundation, joined by gentle pepper, toasted wood, light cocoa, nuttiness and a touch of natural sweetness. We especially liked how balanced it remained without becoming either overly creamy or aggressively strong.

Construction was also very good across both samples, aside from one small burn correction.

At roughly $9–14 in the US, it is also one of the more affordable cigars on this list, although it can be considerably harder to find in Europe.

Best for: Smokers looking for a medium-bodied Dominican cigar with earthy, leathery flavors and more spice.

Our rating: 90/100

Honorable Mention: Davidoff Signature 2000 – 92/100

Technically, the Davidoff Signature 2000 is our second-highest-rated Dominican cigar at 92/100.

We left it outside the main top three for one simple reason: the Winston Churchill already represents Davidoff, and we wanted this list to offer three genuinely different options rather than become a ranking dominated by one brand.

That said, the Signature 2000 is an excellent cigar.

It is smooth, creamy and beautifully constructed, with notes of fresh bread, cedar, light earth, nuts and mild pepper.

At around €18 in Europe and roughly $19 in the US, it may actually offer better value than the Winston Churchill.

If you're looking specifically for a mild Dominican cigar or an approachable premium smoke, the Signature 2000 remains one of our easiest recommendations.

Which Dominican Cigar Should You Choose?

If you want the best overall smoking experience, choose the Davidoff Winston Churchill Toro.

If you want something smooth but less obvious, try the Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto.

And if you prefer a medium-bodied Dominican cigar with more earth, leather and spice, the L’Pure Corojo is the most interesting choice.

There are many excellent cigars made in the Dominican Republic, and this list will naturally change as we review more of them.

For now, these are the three Dominican cigars we would be happiest recommending based on the cigars we have actually smoked ourselves recently.
