Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto Review

Casa 1910 Sampetrina Robusto Review

Axel and Alex here, two cigar enthusiasts behind the Sisuman brand.

This is our first official cigar review published here, and we wanted to start off with a banger, something we both really enjoyed. We are not official critics, just regular cigar enjoyers sharing our honest thoughts. Taste is personal, so if you see things differently, that’s totally fine. We will also invite other cigar enthusiasts to review and share their experiences here in the future. Off to the first review here, the Sampetrina, from the "Soldadera" line by Casa 1910.

"Petra Herrera “Sampetrina“ was a brave Soldadera of the Revolution.  She actively participated in the struggle, disguising her gender to join the forces commanded by Pancho Villa.  She adopted the name Pedro Herrera and dressed as a man. It is said that she managed to gather up to a thousand Soldaderas.

We are dedicating this cigar to Petra’s honor.  We want to shine a light upon her incredible leadership and skills with explosives. "

Construction and draw

Both samples were very well made. The wrapper looked silky and light brown, with a clean burn all the way down. Draw was effortless and even, which made the whole experience calm and steady. We both noticed how consistent Casa 1910 cigars tend to be, and this one was no exception.

Flavor

Starts off smooth with gentle cream, soft earth and just a small touch of baking sweetness. The middle brings more cedar and mild spice together with a bit of coffee. Toward the end it stays smooth but slightly richer, showing toasted wood and faint cocoa. Nothing overpowering, just well balanced from start to finish.

Pairing

Alex had his with a Café au lait and Axel went for a glass of sweet Don Papa rum. Both worked nicely and brought out the creamy and woody side of the cigar. If you like lighter pairings, coffee, rum, or even a mild whisky will all fit here.

Who will enjoy this

It’s a great cigar for both beginners and experienced smokers who want something easy going but still interesting. Perfect for something creamy to start the day with or as a relaxing smoke after dinner.

Our rating

An average of 91 out of 100.
